Sixfold Time
Six Pieces, One Circle
Born from an oak tree estimated to be 60–70 years old, Sixfold Time began with an unusual natural characteristic: the original piece of wood already had a remarkably near-circular form. Rather than forcing that shape into a conventional clock, d’Almeida chose to work with it, using the d’Almeida Reconstruction Technique to divide and then reconstruct the wood into six distinct sections. Each section retains its own proportions and natural character, while matte black epoxy resin brings the separate elements back together. The result is a functional artwork in which reconstruction becomes part of the design itself. Black-and-gold custom hands and golden hour details complete the piece, creating a dialogue between the organic texture of oak, geometric division and the measured rhythm of time.
