A DREAM THAT TOOK SHAPE.
Born from a naturally twisted piece of olive wood, 001.22 began with a simple idea: create a centre table that would be more than just a table.
Instead of hiding the wood’s irregularities, the artist chose to embrace them, combining its organic character with epoxy resin, natural stones, mirror and a 1981 Portuguese 1 Escudo coin.
The result is a one-of-a-kind piece where nature, design and memory meet — a functional object with the soul of a sculpture, and a story waiting to be discovered.
Rather than forcing the wood to conform to the structure, the artist allowed the wood to dictate the structure.
That philosophy became a defining part of this first piece — and an important principle in the work that followed.
